Restoration
I am
writing this tut using PSP (Paint Shop Pro)
This tut is adaptable to any graphics
program that allows you to Clone
, Paint
, Smudge
(retouch tool set to smudge.
Right Click Copy the image
above.
Open your graphics program
Click Edit/Paste/As a New Image or Click

Click View/Zoom in by
5
use the sliders to find the scratches on
the face
Click Clone
tool
Hover over Tool Options to open it
Adjust settings to
- Size 1
- Hardness 100
- Opacity 100
- Step 25
- Density 100
STEP 1
Hold down Shift Key and Click just above
or below the area your working in to select it as the starting spot for
cloning.
This gives the same color and will blend
with the area.
Repeat Step 1 for each section and do
all scratches on the face hair, everywhere you wish to
restore.
You see where I held down shift key and
clicked to choose my beginning clone spot... Now I hold down the left side of
the mouse and inside the white scratch below that spot... position your mouse
inside the white spot before holding down the left side of the mouse. Once
in the white scratch, left click hold and drag along the
scratch.
Scratch is
gone......
Let go of left side of mouse......
Find another scratch or spot that needs repair..... Repeat STEP 1 until all spots are done.
Zoom in and out as needed.
Concept... adding color to the areas
that the color has been removed. The outcome will not be perfect...
another section of this tut takes care of that.
NOTE:... I keep my left index finger
near the shift key ready to click and hold to choose a new spot... maybe cause I
have done this for so long my hand knows I am going to need that key
often... it speeds the process up, perhaps not to worry about it as your
learning ... you will find your own way that works best for
you.
Next process ...
Smudging
