Section 5
Jasc Producst... here you will find your Animation Shop program.
Batch Conversion= PSP 7.04 and lower must use bmp files for their patterns and textures. So here you can turn any of your gifs or jpgs into bmp's. Or if you want to share yours with someone but the bmp files (larger byte file type) are to large, you can batch convert them to jpg format to share. I use this alot. One example is... I like to use Scrippy program which its default is gif or jpg. Most of my backgrounds are bmp files. Scrippy allows me to drop down a menu and select the bmp's as well but it get annoying. I can simply batch my bmps into jpgs and they are ready to be used with any program.
Preferences= Loads of goodies in here

Use General Program Preferences to setup how you want the program to be.
File Format Associations= if you have problems with psp nabbing the images you click to view, check here to uncheck the format. In other words, if you want PSP to automatically open jpg files when you double click them...... then is the spot to set that up, or undo it if you want.
File Locations= Tells the program where your files are and where to save the new ones. For instance... I am heavy into tubes and bmps for my backgrounds. I don't need to bog the program down with all my junk...nor would I want my junk to be eaten by a crash. I have created a new folder on another drive for my tubes, another for my bmps etc. I simply set it up here to let the program know to draw from those folders to get them and I choose to save to those folders so all my items will be safe and not bog down the program.
above you see image preferences... this window opens.
You can set the amount of undo/redo...... etc but the most important to me is this transparency tab. I always work with a tranparent canvas. If my image is mostly black I will reset this transparency color to white..... that way when I erase, I can actually see it very well. When working on light images set it to the color black. If you have a multi color image... set it to a bright color that is not in your image.
How to change the color? Simply click the Color 1 and Color 2 to select different colors.
Section 6
This area shows the last images you have opened. To reopen one simply click it.
