Effects

The effects menu holds some fun stuff. PSP comes with many effects. But you can add plugins that create different effects. You will need to create a folder named Plugins and put that into the psp directory. In this folder is where you install your new plugins. Many will create the folder and place it elsewhere. Thats fine as long as you set the psp program to use that folder to load your plugins. There are many free plugins and many pay for plugins.

In the Blur section I use Gaussian Blur alot, especially when creating a background on a bottom layer with another layer above it that holds an item. One neat effect with this for example lets say I am using a tube of flowers as my item. I create the bottom layer by pasting the flowers all over it, filling it. Then gaussian blur it, sometimes I brighten and contrast it. It makes a neat background for the object and the colors match.

Every rotate an image or resize it and it gets blurred? Try to use the Sharpen controls to bring it back to crisp.

Edge can give you some really kewl effects as well.... as noise

Enhance Photo has wonderful features. I have been using this area alot of images not so good taken with my camera to correct them.

Then we are into even greater Effects just below that. And below that one is where your installed plugins should show up.

User Defined is one where you do the math and set it the way you want... sort of like making your own plugin. I haven't had alot of luck in this area, but I do play with it now and then.
